Mission Statement
The mission of the Delaware Valley DMDG is to provide a common forum for
the many different disciplines involved in drug metabolism research.
History
The greater Delaware Valley contains one of the greatest concentrations of
pharmaceutical scientists in the United States from academia and industry. These
scientists are at the forefront of global biomedical research.
The Delaware valley Drug Metabolism Discussion Group (DMDG) was organized in 1975 and the
first symposium was held May 11, 1977. The DMDG holds three to four dinner meetings and
the Robert S. Rozman Memorial Symposium each year, and all are designed to bring
nationally renowned speakers to address the group, provide a means by which scientists may
discuss current topics in the drug metabolism sciences, and offer an abundance or
opportunities for professional interaction. The continued growth of the organization
attests to the relevance and utility of the group. Participants currently include
scientists from most of the major pharmaceutical companies in the Philadelphia area as
well a many local universities and laboratories.
